Human right violations

To my rapist President of the Hellenic Republic,
To my rapist Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic,
To my rapist Minister of Citizen Protection,

This morning around 11.30, I was heading with a friend towards the crossroad of Rizari and Vasileos Konstantinou streets, when a group of ELAS (Helenic Police Force) officers ordered us to a precautionary search of my backpack and a body search of my friend.
My bag was opened in front of approximately 10 members of the Police Force.
It was found inside a copy of poems of Giorgos Seferis, which was immediately torn apart by the police officers, a bottle of Maalox, which they poured all over me, a respiratory protection paper mask that I had bought by the pharmacy and a bottle of water.
Among my possessions there were also pens and some brochures of German theatrical performances from Berlin, which were forgotten there since a recent travel to Berlin (one of the brochures was from the Berliner Ensemble performance called “Freedom and Democracy I Hate You” and it was immediately torn apart, as well). There was also a commercial bookmark by a Berliner gay bookstore, which became the reason to bully me and a cause of dispute among the ten police officers that were “investigating” my case.
During the lottery that was taking place with my bag’s content, one of the most devoted members of the group, literally forced a glob into my rectum, on top of my trousers, while he was asking me which football team I support.
I was then transferred with a police car to GADA (Athens Police Headquarters) for identification. I was taken to the 11th floor of the building, where there was a sign “Department of Crimes Against Life”. After an hour I was set free. The police officers’ behaviour both in the police car and in GADA was friendly and perfect.
I did not sign any document relevant to my presence there and neither was I informed on any documents being filled in by the police officers while I was held there.
After I was set free and while being on Alexandras Avenue, I noticed that the golden cross necklace from my baptizing ceremony and 20 euro were missing from my bag.
I am planning to turn to any tribunal justice, whether within the Hellenic republic or not, in order to find and fairly punish my rapists and the abettors of my rape, but also for the vandalizing of the poems by Giorgos Seferis.

Sincerely,
Humiliated and raped,
Manos Lamprakis – Theatrical Play Writer

Disposal par éxcellence – I’m shocked about what happened to you. Only because those guys wear uniforms gives them not the right to behave themselves as Übermensch. I’m afraid the political climate – not only in Greece – will increase in common those kind of police guard’s violations. Best luck for your case. We all should be aware.
