General Strike in Greece against new austerity measures and layoffs

Today, 16th of June, a general strike is taking place in Greece. Demos have been organized in more than 60 cities in Greece. This is the fourth general strike in Greece this year (following walkouts on 20 February, 1 May and 13 June). 

Greek unions hope today’s walkout can change the government’s approach to the crisis (despite its austerity measures, such as 15,000 civil service job cuts by the end of 2014, being largely dictated by its Troika of lenders).
